2024 Hot Wheels F Case Review

The 2024 Hot Wheels F case is here and we have a review for you! This case is not as good as some of the others we have seen this year, but there are still a few gems to be found here.

The first car we will be taking a look at is the new Porsche 911 Carerra. This time the car is done in the same style of a coupe clip with an attachment on the rear so you can put it on a key ring. It’s awesome to see Mattel using real cars as a basis for these and we hope to see more! The Porsche includes Porsche branding on the side and a Porsche emblem on the front. Overall a basic but great casting that will be very hard to find. Next up is the regular Treasure Hunt for the case, the Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400. This car features a ton of Ford branding throughout. The Treasure Hunt logo can be seen on the rear quarter panel. The car also features mismatched rims which look ok but not great. Our next car is the potential Super for the case, the ’71 El Camino. The regular version of the car features a purple paint job and 5 spoke wheels. The super comes in a much nicer spectraflame purple paint with real riders on better 5 spoke rims. Currently, the Super is going for around $80 but we could see prices dip considerably as more become available. The final car we will look at for the first half of F case is a recolor of the Ford GT40. The car features a fark blue paint with black hood. A white racing strip also makes it ways down the top side of the vehicle. Ford, Hot Wheels, Autolite, and Goodyear graphics grace the side of the car as well. Overall a clean new livery for the GT40.

The second half of the case is lacking on new vehicles but does feature some decent recolors. First up is the Audi RS-E Tron-GT. Originally done in white, the new olive colorway is refreshing. The car also features full headlight and taillight detailing. Both front and rear license plates also read “AMPED UP”. This car is packed with small details that help it punch above its weight class. Next up is the ’94 Audi Avant RS2. This car comes in a red colorway with 5 spoke rims. Like the Audi before, this car also features full front and rear lightning details which we think should be standard on all castings. This car is simple and great for any Audi or wagon lovers! The next car we have is a recolor of the Mighty k. This time the car comes in an off yellow paint scheme with pink and white graphics. The car still features the signature skateboard in the bed. Rear lightning details help make this car just a bit better. Next up, the recolor of the Nissan Patrol Custom. The car now comes in a green and yellow colorway and features white snow detailing and blue windows. The car is done well and the cutouts on the hood are a great detail. The last car on our highlight list is a recolor of the “Texas Toot” Mazda Autozam. The new blue/grey colorway gives it a nice look. The truck retains all of its previous details including front light detailing. The first time around this truck was popular and we expect the same this time.

Overall the F Case is not the greatest case but there are a few things to be found. From an investment standpoint the Super Treasure Hunt is a great find as usual. The Porsche keychain will also be a great hold if you can find any. Cars such as the GT40 and Shelby Daytona from the E Case will also do well.

2024 Hot Wheels C Case Review

The 2024 Hot Wheels C case is in and we are going to do a quick review on the cars you should be looking for when this case hits your local stores.

The first car that caught our eyes is the seafoam green Mazda MX-5 Miata. The unique color of this car helps it stand out. The added Hot Wheels and Mazda graphics are a nice touch. The wing and open top are also features that make this Miata different from the ones we have seen before. This car looks great although we would’ve liked to see a bit more tail light and headlight detailing, but for a mainline we can’t complain too much.

The second car on our list is the regular treasure hunt for this case, the Tooligan. The car comes in a pink and teal colorway that gives off Barbie vibes but it features some useful additions. The spoiler is a functioning wrench, and the base also features a slot for an Allen key, which is a nice touch. It could be nice to have one of these in your car on the off chance you have to tighten a n antenna or some other small job. The car is finished with purple wheels and a treasure hunt flame near the rear quarter panel.

Next up for our C case review is the potential super treasure hunt, the BMW 507. The car has a nice silhouette but is lacking in other details. A BMW logo can be seen on the side fender and an 822 decal makes it way onto the door and hood. Although we didn’t pull a super out of our case, a customer brought in a loose version of the Super which looks incredible. The rubber tires make a world of difference. Partner that with a gold paint job and this is a really good Super for the beginning of the year.

The next model we will be taking a look at is the 1978 Dodge Lil’ Red Express. This truck comes in a beautiful red paint with gold detailing. The best part of the truck is the small message on the door panel. It reads “Will you be my valentine”. This is an awesome idea and could be an interesting way to ask that special someone later this year. The gold rims and smoke stacks also help this truck with its awesome look.

The last car we will be looking at for the first half of the C case is the ’55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser. Always a popular casting, this variant comes in a bronze orange paint with Hot Wheels, NHRA, Vetuskey, and Goodyear branding. Affectionately named The Collector, this car is sure to be high on plenty of collectors lists. The interior of the car is chrome which is not something we love but it is easy to overlook. The Engine is also chromed out and side exhausts can be seen exiting from the fenders. This car is very well put together and one of the best mainlines we have seen this year.

The second half of the case has some interesting fantasy castings and some other popular models. The Knight Dragon was made to commemorate the year of the dragon for the Chinese New Year. The red and gold colorway give off immediate CNY vibes. The car also features a 2024 Dragon symbol on top of the rear quarter panels. The Batman and Robin Batmobile comes in a black and chrome colorway and features a chrome bat on the front grill. This car is very clean looking and another good addition for Batmobile collectors. The Wheelie Chair is a casting we have seen before and this new version features a red white and blue paint scheme. The card features Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham’s signature. He was the first person to ever complete a single and a double backflip in a wheel chair. Next up we have the DMC DeLorean from Back to the Future. This time the car is in Hover Mode which we have seen before but the car looks good once again in 2024. Finally, we have the yellow ’07 Chevy Tahoe featuring Hot Wheels rescue (RSQ) graphics. This is a car that often gets asked about but we are not sure people will be jumping for it in this emergency yellow colorway.

Overall the C case is pretty good as far as new castings are concerned but the thing that will help it the most is the cars rolling over from B case. In each case, we have received 2 Gold Civics and 2 Purple R30s as featured in our B case review. From an investment perspective these two cars will be good to pick up and possibly hold onto for awhile. The BMW super will be your best investment if found in the wild. Other cars to hold onto are the Bel Air Gasser and Valentines truck. Happy hunting and a Happy New Year collectors!

Hot Wheels Car Culture Race Day Review

We recently got in our Hot Wheels Premium Race Day sets so it’s now time for a review. The set features a few good cars and the overall theme of “Race Day” is communicated well by each of them.

  • Starting off we have the Porsche 935 in a Purple and White KW Suspensions livery. The car has a purple flake paint that looks awesome! It also features Porsche branding on the top of the windshield, spoiler, and also the Porsche crest on the front. This car is number 23 as reflected by the decals on the sides and hood. Lastly, a BBS wheels logo is visible on the rear quarter panel of the car. This Porsche also comes with white plastic wheels and rubber tires. There is minimal detailing as far as front and rear lighting. There are lots of Porsche fans so expect this car to be one of the hardest to find out of the bunch.
  • Next up we have the Aston Martin Vantage GTE. This car features an all over high-vis yellow paintjob. The base of the car has been done in a way that the rear of the vehicle looks like it has a diffuser which is an interesting touch. The car feature Aston Martin Racing (AMR) decals across the entire vehicle including the side of the spoiler, top of the roof, rear, hood, and windshield. This car is number 95 represented by its decals on the sides and hood. The Aston also features headlight and taillight detailing. The black rims on this car look much better than some of the plastic ones we have seen on some premiums. This car is potentially the most detailed in the set but for some reason has been sitting.
  • The third car in our set is the Audi R8 LMS. This car features the same great looking wheels that were on the Aston. It comes in a red, white, and blue camo paint scheme but there isn’t much for decals or branding on this car. An Audi R8 LMS logo on the front and Audi Sport #5 decals on the hood and doors are the only visible graphics. The car does however feature a white roll cage that contrasts well to the black interior. Front and rear lighting details also help this car keep the premium feel. The Audi is another car out of the set that will most likely be on pegs a little longer.
  • Fourth we have the Ford Capri Gr.5. It comes in an all over white paint but has an abundance of Ford branding. The Ford logo is shown sporadically throughout the vehicle. The wheels are a metal plastic hybrid that have a nice look to them.  The car does feature front and rear lighting details, but the taillights look less than impressive. This is car #1 as indicated by the decals on the hood and side. Ford fans seem to be gravitating towards this car as it isn’t staying on pegs as long.
  • Our fifth car in the set is the ’94 AMG-Mercedes C-Class DTM Touring Car. This car features an all over yellow paint and black plastic rims. It features Agip, an Italian oil and gas company, decals on the hood and doors. This is car #5 as indicated by the Mercedes-Benz decals on the sides and hood as well as the giant decal on the roof. The grey roll cage also contrasts to the black interior and yellow exterior. My least favorite part of this car is the yellow spoiler on the back which has been done in a yellow plastic as opposed to being metal and matching the body color of the car. The lighting details on this car are much better than some of the others and give the car a more realistic look as long as you ignore the spoiler. The exhaust sticker on the back is also a decent addition. Even with the questionable plastic spoiler, fans are still grabbing this car off the shelves so expect it to be a slightly harder find.
  • Our last car for the set is the one everyone will be looking for, the Porsche 935 chase. This car will come in an all black paintjob with black rims. Contrary to the other cars in this set, this has no real racing decals but does feature Porsche branding and a large number 75 on the doors in honor of Porsche’s 75th anniversary. The car looks clean in black and gold trim and will be the hardest car to find out of the group.

Upcoming: Hot Wheels x Daniel Arsham

Hot Wheels and fine art aren’t two topics we typically hear brought up in the same sentence, but an upcoming drop looks to change that. Hot Wheels is partnering up with American artist Daniel Arsham to bring us something we haven’t yet seen from the diecast car brand. Arsham is know for taking modern pieces and giving them a distressed or eroded look. He aims to show his pieces as if they had been dug up sometime in the future. His resume includes collaborations with Adidas, Pokemon, Porsche, IKEA, and Tiffany & Co. With the upcoming collaboration, we’ll be treated to 8 castings done in Daniel’s style. They wont all drop at once but instead be introduced in segments or “Laps” as their being referred to.

Lap 1 gives us a Porsche 930 and a Hot Wheels favorite, the Rodger Dodger. The cars will be made out of Silkstone which will give them a smooth feel but also adds to the weight of the cars. These will be more like sculptures rather than cars to roll around. Each model will also be showcased in an acrylic case with a marbleized base. Both cars are also listed as having Real Rider tires but whether those are rubber tires for rolling or just the type of tire used in the casting is unknown. The Porsche 930 will be cast in white and the Rodger Dodger in Arsham Blue. Both cars look great and we’re excited to see the remaining 6 castings!

Now you may be thinking about where to display these cars should you choose to purchase them and Mattel has you covered. The Super Rally Case debuted in 1968 and in Mattel’s own words “has never been reimagined or reinterpreted – until now”. The case will also be done in Arsham’s eroded style so you’ll have a place to store all your precious new cars.

Lap 1 is set to release on October 27th at 11AM Central time. As of now the only way to get your hands on the Porsche is to buy the case and Porsche as a bundle for $200. While this is higher price point then we are used to, hesitating to buy may cause you to miss out. Looking at Arsham’s previous collaborations and works they have almost always sold out and prices on the secondary market are consistently above retail. If this is something you’ll want in your collection, I recommend getting up early and being as prepared as you can come drop time. It won’t be just Hot Wheels collectors after this drop so be prepared. The Rodger Dodger will retail at $70 and the collaboration will also feature some merchandise including a poster, keychains, patches, and stickers.

2023 Hot Wheels M Case Report

The 2023 Hot Wheels M case has arrived and we have a review for you! First up straight off the big screen is the 2024 Hummer EV featured in the Barbie movie. Like most fans of the film, we can’t get ‘Kenough’ of this casting so expect it to be difficult to find. Next up is an awesome new casting of a 73 Jeep J10. The car features a ton of chrome, but the addition of the chrome hubs on the back of this car make it stand out! The next car, and the one everyone will be searching for is the Mighty K. This car is your potential Super this time around and our case happened to have one. The Spectraflame Red on this car looks great and finding one on the pegs is sure to be a great surprise for some. Prices on this car have been steady at around $60-$70. Up next we have a Volvo XC40 that has an awesome forest tampo that makes the car stand out!

While the M case may lack new models the recolor of some old models help it out. The Remac Nevera looks outstanding and clean in white. The ’20 Toyota Tacoma also maintains this clean look in white but the pop of blue from the rims adds a bit of flavor that we enjoy. A very popular casting before, the ’89 Mercedes-Benz 560 AMG looks incredible in its new silver colorway. Another popular casting, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon looks mean in all black. Finally, who could be upset with a Black BMW ,and the new color of the i8 Roadster looks very good.

From the investment side the Mighty K is going to give you your best return if you can find it hanging on the pegs in its super variant. Other popular castings to hold on to will be the Mercedes 560, Challenger SRT Demon, which are very popular castings. Also, the Toyota Tacoma could fetch a few dollars from someone looking for a mini version of their daily driver.
